Sexuality Paper Essay Example for Free

Sexuality Paper Essay In today’s society, we as people are troubled with a twofold standard of how one’s sexual coexistence should go. We get notification from our loved ones, from places of worship and neighbors, that sex is something you do with the individual you love and trust, somebody who you are going to impart a mind-blowing remainder to. Sex accompanies marriage, and with marriage comes a guarantee that you will stay with this one individual â€Å"’til passing do us part. † Be that as it may, this is not true anymore, as individuals everywhere throughout the world are engaging in sexual relations path before marriage. We create attractions to the individuals we find in school or in the work environment, and we date one another, and in different cases, we â€Å"hook up.† This is the place sex comes in. It appears just as we may have lost that significance of sex and closeness and guarantee, and now we have built up a game. A race even-who can engage in sexual relations with more individuals? Who is the most experienced? Who is the best? Furthermore, as we as a whole need to attempt to win this race, backfire is unavoidable. As men increment in numbers, they increment in â€Å"manliness† and power among one another. As ladies increment in numbers, they reduction to â€Å"sluts and â€Å"whores† or to â€Å"easy† people. Where on the planet did this originate from? Obviously, the intensity of man didn't begin in the 21st Century. Man has been the main sex as ahead of schedule as the 1600s, when researchers, specialists and religion guaranteed that the groups of people were one. A body in this timeframe was â€Å"fluid,† and ever changing, and people were spoken to in a progressive system. A male body was an ideal body to contrast all others with; it was solid, loaded with warmth and truth. A female body was one that needed crucial warmth and flawlessness, making these bodies the converse of a male body. Ladies held, inside, the regenerative structures that are obvious on the male body. Ladies were more fragile, milder and colder and consistently looked downward on. They were likewise viewed as increasingly crazy and their ethics couldn't be trusted. A less flawless body implied a less immaculate character, resident and being. Be that as it may, when the nineteenth Century had arrived, the possibility of one body changed into two bodies. Be that as it may, with this change, the possibility of ladies as a lesser sex was still moving as researchers attempted to make sense of the motivation behind ladies, alongside the job they should play in the public arena. Physical and â€Å"natural† contrasts in the assemblages of people defended the jobs that people should play. This eventually prompted the perspective on discrete circles, of men as unrivaled and â€Å"normal† and ladies as carefully here to recreate and give sustenance to their kids and families. With these different jobs of people in the public eye came sexual orientation jobs, of men being â€Å"manly† and accommodating the family, remaining solid and speaking to his family in a constructive way, while ladies kept an eye on everything at home, cooking for her better half in the wake of a monotonous day at work and thinking about the kids she brought into this world, raising them to be decent individuals similarly as she and her significant other were. Ladies were to be female and humble and wonderful, obliging and have poise. People were to be contrary energies of one another, particularly in the high class, white world. With these pictures, the job of sex in every one of the lives of people turned out to be totally different. For men to need want and sex, they did however they see fit, they were in control and held the force. Men didn't have to restrain having intercourse to simply the lady they were hitched as well. Be that as it may, for ladies to think along these lines was considered wild and even named Nymphomania at that point. Ladies depended on methods of disobedience and sexual joy on their own, for example, lone sex and associations with other ladies. Furthermore, as ladies sought after their sexual wants and needs, they started to seek after their needs in different manners as well. Ladies have driven a long battle in the public arena in the work environment and the political world, continually battling for a bit of the force that men hold so near them. The 1900s were a pivot for ladies in the public arena as they earned the option to cast a ballot, the option to work outside of the home, to live alone, unmarried without youngsters. Ladies were battling to be equivalent with men, to be taken a gander at similarly and to be treated with the same amount of regard. Today, we have made considerable progress in this procedure as a general public; we see ladies in power in governmental issues, in The United States, yet in different nations too, where ladies are Presidents and Prime Ministers. So where and when did this twofold standard of sex come to be in our reality? For what reason are ladies despite everything glanced downward on in the subject of sexual relations? To find a few solutions, I made a review, and solicited a few people from my age their opinion of this twofold norm, and in the event that they even think it is still around today. Through Facebook, an ever-climbing informal community, I posted a review for anybody to take, posing 10 inquiries. No Value in an Empty Room

No Value in an Empty Room One misconception about minimalism is that it requires barren rooms, stark white walls, a vast emptiness. But it doesnt. While a clean aesthetic certainly lends itself to the minimalist lifestyle, one doesnt benefit from having nothing at all. Only a sanitarium  functions optimally when totally vacant. Everywhere else, however, requires a certain amount of stuff. How much stuff is up to usâ€"an individual choice. Yes, there is a certain elegance of minimalism. But thats because erasing that which is superfluous allows us to see the beauty in the essential. Cleaning the slate can be niceâ€"temporarily freeingâ€"but only because we  can fill the slate with whatever adds value to our  lives. Real value, though, comes only from inside usâ€"not the room, not the stuff. Of course this is much easier to notice if  theres less junk  cluttering our lives. Do you have Captive Value [Huffington Post] Hult Blog

Written by Cari E. Guittard, Professor of Global Management, Corporate Diplomacy, and Womens Leadership at Hult International Business School, for the Huffington Post Do you have Captive Value? I just recently wrapped teaching my annual Womens Leadership course at the Hult International Business School here in San Francisco. By design, the course delves deeply into Gender Intelligence, Social Capital, and Strategic Influence. As Ive shared in past posts, pursuing a leadership path, irrespective of gender, requires strength in each of these three fundamental areas. Of the three, Strategic Influence the science and art of persuasion is always the most challenging to master. This is due in part to the very fact that strategic influence is experiential and needs to be practiced over and over throughout ones lifetime, with application in varying environments, to reach a certain level of proficiency and mastery. And, unless youve had extensive experience in diplomacy, law enforcement, military and/or intelligence services, chances are you have never been taught the discipline or the skills and tools involved. I was fortunate early on in my career to learn and hone these skills in an overseas environment when I worked for Diplomatic Security at the US Department of State. Further and post 9/11 I worked for Charlotte Beers who served as the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and came to deeply appreciate and learn from some of the best public diplomacy practitioners serving in our posts around the world. I have continued to develop and test these skills as my career has progressed globally from the public to private sector and Ive found that strategic influence is increasingly an essential, hard skillset that too few ever focus or spend any time on. Harnessing Your Captive Value As I introduce the concept of strategic influence to my business school students, whether in a leadership or negotiation course, I always begin with the fundamentals. The seminal tome Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini lays the foundation by outlining the six principles of strategic influence. This is the essential must read first step in understanding the discipline. From there we explore an area that I have coined Captive Valueâ„ ¢. FA x SC = CV Focused Attention x Social Capital = Captive Valueâ„ ¢ Captive Valueâ„ ¢ is essentially the amount of focused attention (time) multiplied by ones social capital (number of diverse, trusted relationships). Captive Valueâ„ ¢ is a skillset that is an essential building block for strategic influence. The term captive is derived from captivate which involves attract(ing) and hold(ing) the attention or interest of; enchant. A good test of captive value is the airplane seat scenario. You board a plane, sit down next to a perfect stranger, strike up a conversation. How many of us are able to get from the five minute pleasantries and perfunctory to a deeper, more meaningful dialogue on a consistent basis? Or in a networking situation how many of us are routinely able to go beyond the What do you do? questions and Can I have your card? to repeatedly building a memorable connection with someone? Social Capital, the extent to which one is able to build diverse, trusted relationships, is essential to developing ones captive value. Social Capital, the term which was coined by the Global Mindset Institute at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, involves leveraging intercultural empathy, interpersonal impact and diplomacy. In a global career, developing extensive social capital is imperative and often a key predictor of long-term success. I have found in my own global experience that there are several practices to unlocking social capital and thereby amplifying ones captive value: Three Keys to Unlocking Mastering Captive Value Active Listener True engagement and effective communication begins with active listening and asking the right questions. Active Learner Constantly nurturing a sense of curiosity and wonder while building upon ones diverse internal knowledge database with insights in addition to and outside of ones professional scope. Active learners, especially those who are open-minded and genuinely curious about others and their surroundings, are universally attractive. Awareness Consistent Application of the 3 Rs Respect, Relationship, Reaction In any new environment that one wants to influence it is essential to begin by observing and adapting before you begin communicating. From there communicate from a place of respect, focusing on the relationship not the transaction. Extreme self-awareness is essential throughout, as your reaction (body language, nonverbal cues) to any given stimuli can immediately halt the development of trust and divert attention. Talent Borrows, Genius Steals Developing captive value will prove instrumental in both professional and personal pursuits, particularly if you live and/or work in a cross-cultural environment. One of the best ways to build on your captive value is to be more aware of what and who most influences you. What is it about their style, approach, body language that you find attractive and most persuasive? Ive gleaned numerous captive value insights and tactics from the public diplomacy practitioners, law enforcement officers, and corporate diplomats Ive been fortunate enough to work with over the years. Ask yourself who in your inner circle repeatedly achieves a high rate of captive value in social settings. What do they do differently and how do they influence you and your peer group. One of my former bosses was famous for saying, talent borrows, genius steals, meaning if you are more aware of what influences you and make note of something that youve found deeply influential why not take that approach and make it your own? Indeed. Invest in your captive value to unlock and expand your influence. This article was originally published by the Huffington Post, Do you have Captive Value? Professor Cari E. Essay about Well Known Practitioners of Realpolitik

Realpolitik is a goal oriented and practical form of politics, which overlooks morals, ethicality, and ideals to attain the interests of the nation or country. It doesn’t view compromise of ideals or morals as wrong, if it brings about the achievement of the political and national goal. The only thing that makes any action or decision taken right or wrong is its level of success. Those who practice realpolitik will not hesitate to take the decisions needed, whether unethical, unidealistic, or amoral, to bring about the desired end result. To do this, a realistic appraisal of power must be made, and based on that information decisions are taken to realize the self-interests of the individual state. Otto Von Bismarck, the†¦show more content†¦He allied Italy with France, a great power, securing not only France’s support but military assistance as well. Cavour realized that a unified Italy was too weak to achieve unification on its own, and based on his assessment of Italy’s power took the steps needed to realize Italy’s self-interests, by allying himself with a great power. Through this arrangement he was able to receive the Lombardy province upon Austria’s defeat, from France. Then when Austria received yet another defeating blow, this time from Prussia, Cavour made a deal with Prussia and gained Venetia. Italy then became a united nation through Cavour’s brilliant scheming and deals. Louis Napoleon III, the first president to be elected by the male suffrage, and the last emperor of France, in a way practiced Realpolitik. He realistically looked at his options, and saw that through the elections he could take his first steps in realizing his self-interests for France. As any other means to place himself in power would be too difficult, and have a low chance of success. He won the elections legally, but then through a coup d’à ©tat he became dictator, and a year later he crowned himself emperor. Proud and Self-Confident Characters in Zora Neale...

Zora Neale Hurston’s essay â€Å"How it Feels to Be Colored Me† and â€Å"I, Too† by Langston Hughes, both have a theme of racism in common. Although these works of literature depict racial inequality, the main characters are portrayed as self-confident and proud individuals. They are not discouraged or disheartened by the attitudes of those who try to oppress them. â€Å"How it feels to be colored me† portrays the attitude of the author after learning she was colored at the age of thirteen. The young Zora lives her entire childhood in a small, all colored, South Florida town where she proclaims herself, â€Å"†¦ everybody’s Zora† (Hurston, 539), because she holds no prejudice in her innocent heart. When she enters school in Jacksonville at the age of thirteen she is shocked to realize that she is now â€Å"†¦ a little colored girl† (Hurston, 539); she lost her identity somewhere along the way. However, Zora is not willing to surrender to the rules of society, she continues to live her life in a positive manner. â€Å"I, Too† also portrays the racism of the times, but in a much different way, Hughes character is a young colored boy, a symbol of black America. His family depicts white America. The boy is sent to the kitchen when the family entertains, because he is â€Å"†¦ the darker brother† (Hughes, L.2, 872), whom the family wants to keep

Aids ( Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome ) - 1249 Words

HIV, the virus which develops into AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), is one of the world’s largest health concerns. The first cases were discovered in 1981. Now, about 35 years later, there are over 36.9 million people living with the disease (UNAIDS 1). Cases have been reported in all regions of the world. The majority of those living with HIV/AIDS, and those at greatest risk for contracting the disease, have limited to no access to education, prevention, care and treatment. There also is still no cure for the disease. Despite challenges faced by those trying to develop techniques for prevention, global efforts have been developed to try to curtail the spread of the disease and prevent as many new cases as possible. The number of AIDS related deaths each year has declined, showing that efforts for prevention are making a difference. In addition, the number of people with HIV receiving treatment has increased tenfold from 1.4 million in 2014 to over 15 million in Marc h of 2015 (UNAIDS 1). This increase in the numbers of those being treated reflects the success that public safety programs have had when it comes to spreading knowledge of the disease and providing assistance to those infected. Both of these, as well as numerous other interventions and vaccine research, are key factors when it comes to how the U.S. Government and other public safety divisions are approaching the war on AIDS over the last 30 plus years and moving forward. Marriage in the Renaissance and Shakespeares As You Like It

Marriage in the Renaissance and As You Like It The concept of marriage has been considered to be a sacred and traditional part of life since the beginning of relationships between human beings. The rules of these intimate relationships were set up in accordance with church law. Such rules consisted of the conventional/typical marriage and the ritual of marriage (ceremony). William Shakespeare examines the customs of marriage practice of the Renaissance time period in his work As You Like It. William Steams Davis defines the age gap: If the girl is not married by the age of twenty-one, there is no hope for her, save for a nunnery or an old maid. She will find no recognized place in society whether in a castle, city, or peasant hut (98). The incidence of the dowry had its influence as well. G.G. Impact of Tourism on the Environment (Negril) Negril is situated on the western end of the island of Jamaica. It is known as the 7 mile beach even though it is slightly longer than 6. 4 km in length. We will write a custom essay sample on Impact of Tourism on the Environment or any similar topic only for you Order Now Negril is also called the tourism capital of Jamaica. Tourism is travel for business, leisure or recreational purposes and therefore has many impacts on the environment: as natural habitats both aquatic and terrestrial are being destroyed and damaged when hotels and roads are being built, causing pollution in many forms and also coral reefs are being destroyed in the process. The current model of tourism has a negative impact on the environment of Jamaica. This model is based on the construction of mega super inclusive resorts, which require engineering solutions such as dredging, construction and limestone blasting in order to create swimming beaches, and construct buildings a few meters away from the high water mark. Construction and operation of tourist facilities such as hotels and other attractions also result in significant alterations to the terrestrial environment, trees, insects, birds etc.Operation of these entities also results in the diversion of resources such as water and electricity which could have been used elsewhere in the society. Jamaica’s tourism product is also dependent on the coral reefs and their associated ecosystems such as sea grass beds and mangroves. These ecosystems are, however, threatened by natural causes and human behavior such as coastal pollution, rapid coastal development, over-fishing and global warming. Incre ased construction activity provides relatively short term and low-skilled employment. The alternating demand for this pool of labour often results in the increase of unplanned settlements and squatter communities that are established close to the resort areas. The creation of these communities results in the destruction of the watershed in these areas as well as inadequate sewage treatment and solid waste management. All of which contribute to reduced environmental quality; for example, reduced water quality as a result of increased nutrients and turbidity in the coastal water. STATEMENT OF TASKThe purpose of the project is to highlight the impacts of tourism on the environment both the negative and positive aspect. Tourism contributes to improper disposal of waste, pollution of air, water and beaches all of which are hazardous to the environment and pose a threat to our health. On the other hand, tourism also has a positive impact on environment as it contributes to foreign exchange. Although concern about environmental degradation started relatively late both the Go vernment and international organizations working strongly acknowledged the problems and recommended measures to balance the environment. Their attention mainly rests on the preservation of endangered wild life fauna, plants and aquatic life and the prevention of further deforestation, which has triggered a host of other problems. Deforestation aggravates soil erosion and, in so doing, affects the agricultural livelihood of the population. Pollution is another alarming problem; it is visible on most routes. Its causes are many and multi-faceted, arising singularly or in combination with several factors such as the following: (a) Lack of hygiene (b) Lack of facilities for proper sanitation, particularly for local people, porters and guides (c) Lack of facilities for litter d) Lack of environmental awareness (e) Ineffective rules and regulations (f) And lack of monitoring of environmental health. While deforestation and pollution are the major causes of environmental degradation in Jamaica, tourism has become a boon for the survival of local people in terms of providing income for them. On the whole, the tourism sector h as generated a living for the locals. However, it has also contributed to the disruption of the environment. In this light, the trade-off between environmental problems and economic gains created by tourism cannot be measured so easily.Tourism needs to be encouraged, but not without policies to improve and maintain the environment CONCLUSION Jamaica is primarily a ‘sun, sea and sand’ destination and, therefore, the primary recreational activities of visitors include sun and sea bathing on the beaches. Tourists who visit Jamaica are, therefore, primarily involved in activities such as going to the beach, snorkeling, scuba diving and glass-bottom boating. Jamaica’s tourism product is dependent on the coral reefs and their associated ecosystems such as seagrass beds and mangroves. These ecosystems are, however, threatened by natural causes and human behavior such as coastal pollution, rapid coastal development, over-fishing and global warming. The effects of tourism on the environment are felt in several ways: Resources are utilized to provide for the every-day comforts of visitors and utilization of materials to produce souvenirs and destruction of the natural environment caused by an influx of tourists. There is the pollution generated by tourists: discharge of untreated sewage into seas and rivers, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions from transport. There is also the impact of changes upon the social and cultural life of a country; the necessity to provide accommodation to support the tourism sector resulting in increased allocation of lands, sometimes in areas where the natural environment is irrevocably changed. Therefore it can be stated that tourism does have a negative impact on the environment. RECOMMENDATIONS ?Monitor beaches closely to prevent over population and thus reduce pollution of the beaches ?Prevent sewage from going out into the sea Carpool to reduce the amount of fumes from entering the atmosphere thereby preventing global warming and the depletion of the ozone layer by some extent. ?Educate the public more about the impacts of tourism on the environment. ?Take precautionary measures to reduce habitat destruction.BIBLIOGRAPHY http: www. geointeractive. co. uk/environmental impact of tourism http: www. jamaicaobserver. com/jamaicaobserver/20090104/leisure html â€Å"PUBLIC AFFAIRS: Economic, social impact of Tourism on the Environment. † The Jamaica Gleaner. 4 Jan 2009 UNEP: Environmental Impact of Tourism. Brookfield Airport Report free essay sample

Introduction: * Background: Brookfield Airport which was built in the mid 1960s is located in the English Midlands and it is operated by the Midland Airport Authority (MAA). The reason, why in recent years the number of passengers it handles has greatly increased, is it has become a base for several budget airlines offering cheap flights to European destinations. It causes the airport always being very busy at peak times. The airport benefits from excellent rail links from its terminal building to major UK cities, but its car parking facilities are limited. The terminal building also is an award-winning modernist design, and it now is ‘listed’ and has a protected status. * Purpose: This report is to find out the problems and deal with them, also help the airport to work under pressure and increase their service quality while the number of passenger is increasing. Findings: Actually, the business rapid growth has brought a lot of problems in recent years. Dealing with increase passenger numbers is causing difficulties for the airport and there is strong local opposition to building a new runway or extending the terminal from local residents. Because of the terminal building is an award-winning modernist design and now is a ‘listed’ building, also has protected status that means its structure cannot be change in any way. A recent survey also showed that passengers had many complains about the quality of the service at the airport, here are the complaints: There’re always big queues at check in desk and it’s disorganized. No smoking areas. The staffs of duty-free shop hassle passengers and passengers need more vending machines in waiting areas. The public announcements are so quiet and the TV screens information is very vague. Provide guards or officials to watch passengers and their belongings. The conveyor belts always break down. Passengers need more trolleys. Better facilities for disabled. Limited car parking. Conclusion: According to the survey, there are 10 problems have to be solved with, but in fact, VIP Lounge and Boarding Disembarking aren’t MMA’s business, so the company should give them to the airlines. I’m here not to offer lip service; actually, MMA should take action immediately, in order to save their business and try to improve their service. The recommendations in the next paragraph are the methods. Recommendations: * Check-in amp; Passport Control: Some passenger mention that there are always big queues at the check-in desk and it’s very disorganized. In my opinion, I’d like to add more guards or officials or staffs to help control them or help for the checking. After that to add one more check-in desk only for emergency person and old person, also for disabled person. Training staff, make them more skillful, helpful, professional, to reduce check-in time. Open-ended check-in desk is another good idea for reducing long queue pressure. Passenger can check-in every time if they are too early to arrival the airport, I mean at least earlier than 1 hour for their flight * Smoking area: I really mind smoking in the airport, actually. But to have smoking area seems reasonable, just empty some rooms and add air draft systems. Once you agree with smoking in the public, you should make sure that you have ability to prevent airport far way from fire. * Staff amp; vending machines: Training staff is inevitable thing to do, on the one hand it can increase the image of the airport and increase the service quality, and on the other hand training staff can help the airport work more fluently and efficiently. Vending machines also should be set in the waiting areas; you can find them in other airport easily. * Public announcement amp; TV screens: As an airport, public announcement and TV screens are really important parts. Passengers all use them to get information. So, public announcement should be loud enough for passengers to listen to, and add the information repeat times into five or even more. TV screens should show the information clearly and immediately. Guarantee that passenger can know the least flight information. * Security: As the method I have mentioned in the check-in amp; passport control part, add more guards or officials and add more CCTVs will be better. public announcement should always remind passengers to pay attention their public belongings. * Terminal facilities: Conveyor belts should be checked all the time, add one or two staff to report the situation and fix them up as soon as possible, don’t obstruct the following works, and don’t delay passengers. Increase the amount of trolleys, check them up regularly. Facilities for disabled, every staff or officials or guards should have ability to help with disabled people. Make stickers with heart shapes, and stick them on this people’s chest to remind staff they need helps. Finally, airport should offer official disabled facilities, for example: offer free wheel chair to get on or get off planes. Car parking: The survey shows us, the transport links in airport is doing quite a good job. In my opinion, car parking isn’t too important and I believe add more transportation can fix this problem up easily, so this problem can be elayed. Consult with government that add an underground line to the airport and add more bus station. Set up a taxi only waiting line outside the terminal building. Add several airport express bus lines, passengers can take the bus in free. Add car parking fee and appeal with environment friendly, advocate to take public traffic. Needs It is believed that the successful management is the key to the success of any organization. In this high competitive business environment, a good management structure helps in existence. Change management is an important tool towards making better changes (Todmen, 2007). Woolworths has faced a recent structural change. A major section of its senior employees left the organization loosing trust in its operations. Woolworths is facing a major change in its subsidiary companies. Some of its subsidiaries are struggling hard to survive in the market. The majority of the problems are occurring in the SAP structure. The company is failing to deliver its customers their requirements; a loss of faith in management has caused a significant change in employees structure. An overambitious goal by management compels employees to quit the organization. Continuous loses has caused downfall in morale. Woolworths recently has faced a mass departure of its senior executives. More focus is shifted ove r revival of sick units by cost cutting. It has recently announced a cut down in 400 executive jobs. It has lost a majority of its senior support due to implementation of reorganization plan. It is putting its entire savings in reviving the sales. Due to its current situation, Woolworths is losing customer relationship, marketing, and loyalty (Mitchell, 2016). Reason for change in management: Increasing market pressure has forced companies to change its management structure. When an organization faces excessive pressure from its competitors, it tends to breakdown. In recent times Woolworths is facing too much market pressure from its competitors like Cole, Mark Spenser etc. The retail sector in Australia has employed a maximum number of people. Woolworths is facing a drastic change in its share price. The price of the share is decreasing which has caused a huge loss. In order to revive its operations, Woolworths is implementing its savings in other areas. The cost cutting measures are utilized to bring back trust in customers (Hyam and Ong, 2016). The majority of its stores are closed due to high loss. Some of its units are closed due to lack of income. The Company is unable to manage its operations into various segments. It has caused a serious loss to the retail industry. Even Cole faced the same situation 10 years ago. Woolworth is failing to satisfy the customer expectations. All of them are losing faith in the brand. They are switching to other brands to assure their needs. The purpose of an organization is to fulfill its customer needs. Woolworths is failing on that parameter has caused a decline in profits. Another factor is due to attack from its rival companies. Woolworths is known for providing cheap goods to its customers. In recent years it is failing on its motive. Where other brands like David Jones, Waitrose, Mark Spenser are supplying to its customers goods at a cheap rate. Aldi from Germany and Costco from the US are providing ultra cheap brands to the customers (Treadgold, 2015). Need and opportunity are the techniques which are enforced seeing various aspects. A change is essential for an organization to survive. The changes need to be reinforced to get the maximum results (Rhodie, 2000). Employees are an important asset for an organization. An organization needs to focus its mission statement for achieving various objectives. It is essential to bring in the notice the reasons for incorporating change. The organization needs to provide its employees with the power to bring the change. A company needs to create short term goals for the long term survival. One can only achieve if he/she are persistent with the goals. It is necessary to incorporate the change permanently in the mission of the organization (Cameron and Green, 2004). Woolworths need to adopt the policy which is persistent in nature. To achieve in a long run Woolworths has to bring back faith in the senior executive. The management is losing faith in the organization which is affecting the employees sustainability. It has recently announced a loss of $ 1.235 billion for the financial year 2016 on Thursday, 25. The loss has occurred due to failure in Master business and Big W business. They faced the biggest loss in last 20 years (Chung, 2016). The intervention and diagnostic approach focuses on bringing the required changes in the organization. Woolworths need a change in its internal and external policies. Recently it is going through a serious restructuring. There is a need to bring the changes to draw back the attention of the customers in recent time it has lost customer faith. The trends are visible in the annual report. There is an urgency to initiate an intervention method into the company. The two interventions are mentioned in the report are the human resource, and the technology. Woolworths needs to compete with others to sustain in the market (Treadgold, 2015). It is losing the majority of its customers to the brands like Aldi, Coles, Mark Spensers, etc. Sustainability is an important aspect while implementing the plan. The major challenge is to revive the stores which are causing regular loss to the company (Low, 2016). Interventions Interventions are those business strategies which aim at making a difference to an organization. Business interventions are done to bring a change. It helps in increasing the efficiency and capacity of the organization (Ryall and Bramson, 2013). First Intervention: Technology adds value to an organization. Technology brings people close to each other. In a competitive atmosphere, it has become an important instrument to succeed. Customers are mostly inclined to those organizations which are technology upgraded. In this era of e-commerce technology plays an important role in satisfying the objective. An organization which is technologically handicapped cant survive in a long run. The trend shows, a large number of sections are buying goods online. An organization which is providing easy and smooth flow of technology is the best organization. Name: EziBuy It is a subsidiary company of Woolworths who has its operation in Australia and New Zealand. It is providing a wide clothing range to its customers through online services. In the era of technology, EziBuy is giving their customers a great experience. They are providing goods at their doorstep. People prefer ordering goods online rather than physical purchases. Currently, the most viewed section of the online platform is women clothing. Their major priority is to satisfy the customer interest, when its losing a great market position (EziBuy, 2012). EziBuy is currently the largest fashion and home ware retailer in Australia and New Zealand. Their major sales are carried out through publishing catalogues. It processes more than 1.75 million orders annually (Meadows, 2013) Technological intervention Technology plays important role in enhancing the overall capacity. It is an added advantage in our day today life; technological intervention helps in improving the overall performance. In a phase of cut-throat competition, technological interference will add an edge. Customers prefer buying goods online. Most of the selling of EziBuy is online based. It has become important regarding customer satisfaction. When competing with other brands it has become important to focus on the technological strategies. In the case of EziBuy which is the largest customer brand in Australia and New Zealand. It is necessary to center on the online marketing strategies, by revamping the old tools. The technological intervention will help in providing an overall improvement in the sale. Diagnostic model and explanation: The four-frame model of Bolman and Dela (2003) helps in understanding the issues related to organizational diagnosis, development, and changes. Various researchers have viewed an organizational structure in 4 frames (Bolman and Deal, 2013). Structural (factories or machines) It focuses on the architecture of the organization. It includes goal, structure, technology, role and coordination of them. All the responsibility, division of work labor, rules, policies are related to the structural frame of the organization. Reorganization and redesigning help in the restructuring of the organization (Bolman and Deal, 2013). Political It sees an organization as the jungle. It focuses on power, competition and winning over scarce resources. Individual belief, behavior, interest defines the political frame of the organization. The main interest of this frame is to focus on the power and recognition. Effective management and leadership skills help in governing the individual interest (Bolman and Deal, 2013). Symbolic It treats an organization in a symbolic form. According to this theory, an organization is a theater. This frame focuses on meaning and faith. This builds a passionate and creative relationship in the organization. It focuses on creating a leader who can maintain faith, beauty and meaning (Bolman and Deal, 2013). Every frame defined in this structure is equal to the mental model. It helps in understanding and assembles information in a logical way. This helps in providing the true picture of the current situation. Human Resources It helps in understanding the people relationship with each other. Every individual has a different set of needs and requirements. This frame helps in understanding the organization in the perspective of the human resource frame. One can understand individual needs and train the individual to fulfill the organizational needs. The job is done by one who feels good about their job. The metaphor for the human resource frame is family (Bolman and Deal, 2013). EziBuy focuses on satisfying their customers by providing the best services. They are focused on building the good relationship with its customers. Human resource theory focuses on understanding the customers wants. The only interest of the organization is to satisfy the customers needs. This frame helps in understanding the need of understanding the valued customers. EziBuy focuses on establishing a long time relationship with its customers in Australia and New Zealand. They are more focused toward building a great environment. Customers will only buy if they are satisfied with the services of the products. Else there are various brands in the market which are satisfying the same purpose. EziBuy is known for providing a clothing range to the doorstep. The sale is only due to hardcore customer satisfaction. Customers will only buy, if they are satisfied with the online facility. In the era of globalization, the whole market has become a small place. More people are inclining towards the online purchases. With the entrance of the new competitive brand, it has become difficult to compete. Hence EziBuy needs to focus on the policies of customer satisfaction by providing the goods at the doorstep. Review: Woolworths is focused in providing overall best experience to the customers. It can only provide its services in a better way if it focuses its effort on improving the overall market experience. Woolworths needs to implement the policies carefully due to the recent changes. Four frame models of Bolman and Dela helps in understanding the situation; the company is going through. The main aim of an organization is to satisfy the needs of the customers. The global competition has made it difficult to survive. EziBuy needs to focus its strategies carefully at one place .It needs to focus on emphasize the necessity of relationships with customers. Every individual have needs feelings, skills, and opportunities. This frame is essential to be focused. The main purpose of a job is to serve the basic need of its customers. A person can only perform well if it has a certain motive. EziBuy needs to focus its strategies on the customer. Developing human relation will help it to make profi t. Global competition makes it difficult to survive. Taking care of customer convenience is an essential tool to survive. Customer only wants to buy if they find the services interesting and easy (Defoe, 2013). Second intervention: Woolworths rewards: It is the most attractive reward system by the organization to hold its customers. Woolworths reward points focuses on attracting more customers. This scheme has generated a team of loyal customer force. This scheme is giving discounts to the loyal customers who are with Woolworths since a very long time. Woolworths is launching various programs like the orange bill to enhance the sale. These are the catchy scheme launched by the organization to hold its customers. Woolworths strategy is to reward each of its customers who are spending dollars to purchase. They have introduced multiple redemption schemes which are: money off shopping, Qantas points and saving for Christmas. Woolworths is also providing fuel rewards and exclusive member deal to make their customers happy. These strategies are very helpful in holding the customers. Customers buy those goods where they get huge discounts. Reward point is a good strategy to pay back to the loyal customers. This helps in generating a good customer tally (Rewards, 2016). Intervention type: Human resource intervention: It deals with the issues with the social processes happening among organization member; these are the occurring due to change in the organizational structure. It is necessary to understand the overall dynamics of the organization. Human resource intervention is a necessary step towards combining the overall efforts of the organization. It looks forward to its interest. Rewards points are an initiative for accelerating the sales. Customers service is an important aspect of the human resource intervention. The more focus is towards the overall growth (Zhao and Liu 2010). Diagnosis: A 7s model is a tool developed by McKinsey helps an organization to evaluate and improve performance. The 7s model (waterman, peters Philips 1980) is used to enhance the overall performance in a simpler manner (Abbott and Booth, 2014). The various elements of the 7s model are as follows: Structure: it tells how the organizations units are interrelated. It provides the data in a sequential format. It is the central force in an organization. System: it defines how the work should be done. There are certain standards which govern the operations in an organization. Staff: the employees are inter-related to the performance of the organization. An organization can only perform well if it has employees. Style: leadership style affects the overall performance of an organization. The kind of style practiced is an important attribute. Skills: an organization can only grow if it has skilled employees. It is due to their efforts organization makes remarkable changes. Shared valued: An organization based on fair values grow on long run .Mission and vision statement of an organization define its goal (Abbott and Booth, 2014) (Anderson and Anderson, 2010). Woolworths need to match resources to the opportunity available in the market. Reward point is a strategy to create an advantage over its other competitors. Reward point has made an important initiative to fight against the current competitors. Customer loyalty is an important aspect in this competitive global atmosphere. It is necessary to understand the customer basic motive. Woolworths need to make their strategy more customers focused to hold its old loyal customer. To attract more customers it is necessary to focus on its customers loyalty advantages. Review: An organization needs to focus on building a strong internal alignment .All the resources of the organization should focus on creating competitive advantages. Survival is only possible if the company understands how to compete with the other competitor. Woolworths need to match its resources with the opportunities. It needs to accelerate its resources to establish good customer relationships. Time to the time change in the internal policy is an important measure to bring the change. Woolworths current market position is very poor. It is losing its best customer to the other competitive brands. In this scenario, it is necessary to incorporate a good reward strategy to attract more customers and to keep the old one. The major change in the senior executive and a drop down in the previous years profit has made an incredible difference to the organization. It is facing a huge internal change. A majority of stores are closed because they are not performing well. It needs to focus on saving techniques rather than investing on other places. It should focus on its core strengths for survival. Woolworths reward point can prove to be a major strategy to incorporate majority of changes. In this global scenario of excessive competition, the organization needs to focus on the resources. In the case of Woolworths which is facing a significant change, it is necessary to focus all its resources in a fruitful place. It is essential for an organization to adapt the environmental changes. In the absence of appropriate changes a firm may lose an important segment. Firms are affected by the general change in the market. It changes almost every aspect of the business. It is due to change in customers taste, reformative policies. Recommendation Firstly Woolworths need to implement a structured model in its daily working. Instead of spending their income in other sectors it should focus its savings in rejuvenating the sick unit. It should shut down all those units which are incurring losses. It should shut down all those units which are not making profits. Secondly, it needs to build customer-centric policies. Their major focus should be on the existing customers. There are certain brands which are providing goods at a very cheap rate. Woolworths need to change its pricing policies. They need to keep very competitive price so that they could compete with the other brands. Thirdly, major focus need to be given on the online services. Major sections of the society are buying goods online. Woolworths need to focus on its online sales. This will help in adding the new customers to the organization. Fourthly, Woolworths has to focus on creating a competitive advantage over other brands. It needs to focus all its resources carefully in building a well known customer brand. It needs to focus on each of its subsidiary to make huge profits. Woolworths has to focus on building long term relationship with its partners. A structured plan needs to be implemented to procure profits. Conclusion The report focuses on the change in management which is caused due to the recent events in Woolworths. It suggests various strategies and intervention technique through which the sick unit can be revived. The two intervention techniques introduced were technological and human resource intervention. These techniques are an important instrument to revive the sick units. Woolworths is facing a significant change in the market. It has recently faced huge losses. The report also includes various diagnosis models to focus on revival and restructuring. Woolworths has to focus on its core competency to survive on a long run.
